7-Dwarfs Turquoise Sterling Silver Necklace

7-Dwarfs Turquoise Sterling Silver Necklace
This modern Southwestern style 7-Dwarfs Turquoise sterling silver pendant is a beauty. A unique turquoise gemstone is the focal point of this handcrafted necklace. The fabrication of this pendant design has texture on all fronts - fused sterling silver dust to the back side, as well as the fine silver bezel that surrounds this amazing 7-Dwarfs Turquoise gemstone.
The handcrafted necklace and clasp were forged from 16ga sterling silver - a lot of time goes into designing a handcrafted necklace. The entire pendant, necklace and clasp were given a patina bath and light polish to bring out the texture highlights for that rusticated finish I love.
This modern Southwestern style sterling silver necklace, with it's texture and patina, not to mention a rare and unique gemstone, is a beautiful piece of wearable art and an heirloom piece to hand down for generations.

7-Dwarfs Turquoise (aka spiderweb gem silica) was discovered in 1973 and comes from the 7-Dwarfs turquoise mine, located near Lander Blue Mine in Nevada. This type of turquoise is known for its green to yellow-green color and distinctive black, web-like matrix patterns. This amazing gemstone is a highly silicated, copper based gemstone. There have been differing opinions as to the correct name, as the mineral composition seems to be slightly all over the place. Regardless, this material continues to be called 7-Dwarfs Turquoise in most lapidary circles. Because the vein where this material was mined is all but gone, 7-Dwarfs Turquoise has become quite valuable on the market, hence the high price tag for one of these gemstone beauties.
