Who loves fossils? I haven’t designed a fossil ring in a long while so when I received this amazing orthoceras fossil, I was so excited to set this beauty in one of my handcrafted sterling silver rings. And needless to say, it came out amazing!

This handcrafted orthoceras fossil ring was fabricated from sterling silver, and fine silver surrounds this really cool orthoceras fossil. The sterling silver double ring band and the fine silver that surrounds the stone were given a hammered texture. The entire ring was given a matte satin finish.

• Ring Setting measurements: ~1 1/4” L x 1/2” at it’s widest point

• Ring Band measurements: 1/8” W x 1/16” (14.5 ga) in thickness

The genus Orthoceras was an ancient cephalopod that lived about 370 million years ago. The preserved shell is all that remains of this ancestor of our modern-day squid.
