My Design Inspiration

I have always had a love for semi-precious gemstones, as well as fossils and rocks.  When designing handmade gemstone jewelry pieces, this passion is reflected in my designs. I am inspired by the natural minerals and fossils to create simple but expressive handcrafted jewelry designs.

Because natural gemstones and fossils can stand alone as a work of art, handcrafted gemstone jewelry has the ability to make a statement, no matter how simple the design.  I don't like to complicate my designs, as I don't want to take away from the natural beauty of the semi-precious gemstones and fossils. As an artist, using what is naturally beautiful is such a gift, and I enjoy using my creativity to showcase that beauty in the most simple way.

Gemstone jewelry by danielle is a collection of "one-of-a-kind" and a few "limited edition" handcrafted gemstone and fossil jewelry pieces using copper and silver. Because gemstones and fossils always vary in color and matrix, any of my handmade gemstone jewelry designs will be unique in some way.

Sterling Silver Dangle Earrings

These simple but stunning sterling silver earrings are one of my newest designs for the earring collection. The sterling silver hammered dangles drape from handcrafted sterling silver hook earrings which are now being designed using argentium silver. Argentium silver is a non-tarnishing silver which makes for easier upkeep.

Argentium silver, while still considered sterling silver, has only one difference from the traditional sterling sterling - the replacement of some of the copper with the metalloid germanium. This replacement of copper with geranium makes this form of sterling silver highly tarnish resistant, which is good news for people who wear a lot of sterling silver.

The sterling silver dangle of these handmade sterling silver earrings measures approximately 1 1/2". These earrings are just long enough to dress up any outfit or add a bit of flash to a t-shirt and pair of jeans.

This new earring design sets these earrings apart from many styles I had previously designed. I am all about simple and I really like the look of these simple, sterling silver, handcrafted earrings!
